Fisherman Father’s Day

06/16/2016 Lynda Day Leave a Comment

As you know, Father’s Day is just around the corner. Do you have your cards & gifts ready yet? I have my card done, but I still need to grab the gift. My hubby is an avid fisherman. Our hobbies go well together. He fishes and I craft about fishing! Here’s the card I made for him. I totally CASED this card. I just thought it was so cute.

Basically, I didn’t use any fancy tools just some fancy cutting with the scissors. It was a fun little project that I know my husband will love. What thing describes the father in your life the best? Leave a comment and let me know.

Project Life-Moments Like These

06/14/2016 Lynda Day Leave a Comment

Ok, so today’s the day. One of my main purposes for starting this blog was to highlight Project Life by Stampin’ Up. I LOVE this product. As you know, I am a busy mom of six kids and I also love to scrapbook. I did a really good job with keeping my kids scrapbooks up to date until kid number 4 entered the picture. Things just went down hill from there. Sound familiar? Well enter Project Life.  I found that Project Life was the perfect solution to my growing problem. For those of you who don’t know, Project Life is the simple idea of pocket scrapbooking. Basically, your scrapbook page is divided into different sections and you use a combination of cards and pictures to create the page. It’s so simple!Project Life was the solution to my problems. I could catch up on my scrapbooking (still not current:) while maintaining my standards of cuteness.

Now I could go on and on about this, but for today I just want to show you a sample and tell the story. After all, Project Life isn’t just about pictures, it’s also about the story behind those pictures.

PL Baseball (1).wm

This page is about my little girl’s first T-Ball game. We are an avid baseball family and my husband was so excited to watch Reanna play her first game. She was excited as well. She dressed up in her uniform and we headed to the baseball field. When my husband saw her, he turned and grinned at me and said, ” I’m not sure I will be any prouder on the day she gets married!” Isn’t that sweet?

One more thing I want to say. If you’re interested in Project Life, don’t get overwhelmed. My best advice I can give is start where you are NOW!. I took this picture to show you that I started where I am right now. The month of June. My goal is to keep things current and as time permits I will catch myself up from the beginning of the year. By the end of 2016 I should have a beautiful book reminding me of all the things I did.

Jar of Love Money Holder

06/13/2016 Lynda Day 1 Comment

Happy Monday to everyone! Today’s post is a quick one. I have a niece who is going to be living in Hungary for a few months and I wanted to give her a little money to help her out. Of course it’s not good enough to just hand over a check, I needed something cute to put in it.

Freshly Made Sketches & Color Throwdown Challenge

06/11/2016 Lynda Day 3 Comments

So one of the things that I like to do to get the creative juices flowing is participate in Challenge Blogs. There are so many different ones out there. Today I am using two different blogs. Freshly Made Sketches & Color Throwdown.

Here are the two different sketches.

I love these colors together. They are so summery!

FMS Final 240-001

Here is my take.

CTD1.wm

I know it’s kind of hard to see in the picture, but I’ve used the new copper embossing powder, plus there’s a strip of washi tape that has the copper in it from the Affectionately Yours suite.

CTD2.WM

In this picture I wanted to point out the bow. Normally they are kind of a brass color. Of course that didn’t work for me so I changed the color by dipping the bow into the copper embossing powder. Voila! I had a copper bow a few minutes later.

Well that’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by!
