The Queens “Reign”

08/03/2016 Lynda Day 1 Comment

A couple of weeks ago, I thought it would be fun to host a card swap with some of my fellow Queens. I am part of an awesome group of women. Our name is Queens of the Stamp Age and we have some very talented ladies. We had 17 participate all together.  Here are their beautiful cards.

#Giggles

Wow, I was looking at the last day I posted and it was almost 2 weeks ago. Things are finally slowing down for me. My little kids are back in school, I know a little weird.

I have a goal to get more scrapbooking done so I decided to participate in a challenge today. Its from Scrapbook Challenges. Every week they put out a different layout challenge. I love these kind of things because they get my brain rolling.

I focused on sketch 491

My page is of my little girl Alayna. She’s my baby.

This was a picture of her first little smile and giggle.

Scrapbook Challenges also has an additional challenge. This month it was to make your title into a hashtag.

As you can see, my hashtag was #Giggles.

Notice the splash of color. I used Gorgeous Grunge to add some texture to the page.

I used the Pop of Pink DSP to make this make. One of the thing I love about this DSP is that it’s mostly black and white and you can add any color you want to it.

Well that’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by! What’s your favorite hashtag? Leave it in the comments!

Falling Flowers and a Challenge

07/18/2016 Lynda Day 1 Comment

Good Afternoon everyone. Wow, I must say July is flying by. With all the summer time fun, I’m finding it difficult to get my posts in. However I am going to keep plugging along. Today I used a little inspiration from two different blogs, The Colour Q & Retro Sketches.

I liked both the color palette and the sketch.

This stamp set is the Falling Flowers stamp. I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it. It’s so gorgeous and it has a framelit set, May Flowers, to go with it. It also features the specialty designer series paper Irresistibly Floral. I have a feeling this is going to become one of my favorites.

Happy Birthday Mom!

07/13/2016 Lynda Day Leave a Comment

My mom’s birthday is in July and I wanted to make her a card that reminded me of her. One of the new stamp sets I got is the Best Birds stamp set. I fell in LOVE with this stamp set. The funny thing is, I am NOT a bird person. Needless to say, I am very pleased with how my first card with this stamp set turned out.

Blue is probably my mom’s most favorite color. The card uses Dapper Denim which is by far one of my most favorite blue colors. I just love the simplicity of this set. I stamped the branch in Soft Suede and then colored the leaves in with Wild Wasabi and the flowers with Flirty Flamingo.

This Best Birds is a great stamp set for texture and it also has a matching Thinlit set that goes with it. Be sure to check it out.

Project Life-Holt Family Farm

07/11/2016 Lynda Day Leave a Comment

Good Morning! It’s Monday and that means a Project Life post. Today’s pictures are from this cute little place we have here called the Holt Family Farm. The Holt Family took the land they grew up on and created a little park with the original farm house still standing. Such a fun place.

PLholt1.wm

One of the fun things about this place were the awesome trees they had to climb in. Now who doesn’t want to have a go at a good climbing tree. Of course my boys couldn’t resist.  PL TIP: Notice how I used the sequins on the PL card (bottom right corner) as well as on the picture itself (top left corner). This creates a feeling of balance on your page.

I also thought it would be fun to put my little girl in the tree as well. One thing I can’t stress enough is to always  journal on your pages. Don’t worry about your handwriting, it’s important to see that!

All the cards on these pages came from the Stampin’ Up Good Vibes kit. If you’re interested, click on the links below to purchase these products.
